1 x decal sheet and six pages in instructions

Good variety of schemes and aircraft depicted.

Slight printing imperfections on top left of sheet.

Highly Recommended

Red Roo are maintaining the high quality of the instructions supplied with their product as this set comes with a six sheet instruction manual. Each aircraft comes with a minimum of four views of the scheme and decal placement with the Spitfire Vc BQ*Y having an extra view due to a change in the marking under the front left windscreen. You are given the various colours used for each aircraft with the relevant BS number where possible.

The decals cover the following aircraft:

  • Spitfire Mk Vc, BQ*Y, El Daba, Egypt, Oct-Dec 1943. Scheme RAF Dark Green/RAF Dark Earth upper and RAF Azure Blue undersides. This option has either the Squadron Leader pennant or the Kangaroo marking under the front left canopy.
  • Spitfire Mk IXc, BQ*S, Corsica, France, May 1944. Scheme - RAF Medium Sea Grey upper and PRU Blue undersides.
  • Spitfire Mk IXc, BQ*M, Corsica, France, July 1944. Scheme - conventional Day Fighter Scheme of Dark Green and RAF Ocean Grey uppers with RAF Medium Sea Grey underneath.
  • Spitfire Mk XVIe, NI*V, Matlaske, UK, March 1945. Scheme Conventional Day Fighter scheme as above.
  • Spitfire Mk XIVe, NI*K, Berlin, Germany, October 1945. Conventional Day Fighter Scheme as above.

The sheet is generally well printed with nice colours and in register. On the initial sheet there were slight printing imperfections on the Squadron Leader Pennant and the Kangaroo as they were slightly out of register. I contacted Red Roo and they have supplied a replacement for the sheet straight away. The replacement sheet is well and truly up to the standards I have come to expect of Red Roo.

For the yellow outer ring on the late National Markings the yellow is supplied as a separate disk to put under the normal markings. By my reckoning (possibly flawed) you receive sufficient National Markings for three different aircraft being BQ*Y, BQ*S and one of the others depending on what aircraft you wish to model.

Despite the slight printing problem onthe top left of the sheet I highly recommend this sheet as it covers a good variety of aircraft and areas. The good customer service of Red Roo with the replacements for the slightly misprinted items more than makes up for the initial problem.
