Jagermeister Porsche 956C

1/24 Revell Porsche 956C

by David Freeman

The Vehicle:  Brun Motor sport Porsche 956C Group C car as driven by Stefan Bellof during the 1985 season.  Bellof had won the 1984 World Sports Car Championship, European Champion Driver and International German Racing Championship driving a 956 sponsored by the Rothmans team.  For 1985, Bellof moved to the Jagermeister Sponsored vehicle as shown here.  Bellof was killed in this vehicle at Spa Francorchamps on 1 Sep 1985 when attempting to pass the Rothman's sponsored Porsche 962 of Jackie Ickx.  The cars touched at the high speed Eau Rouge  turn and Bellof was killed when his car cannoned into the crash barriers, while Ickx walked away.
